“In the court’s hearing, we had confessed that during our ground inspection few months back, we had found that illegal mining was being done in 115 hectares of area in Aravalis. We immediately put a stop to it and after SC’s orders, we again sent out team on field to find out if any illegal mining was being done in that area. HC pulls up AP over limestone mining

HYDERABAD: Stressing on the fact that it was keenly watching the response of AP authorities in dealing with big elements who are allegedly excavating thousands of tonnes of limestone worth hundreds of crores in an illegal way in Piduguralla, Nadikudi and other areas of Guntur, the Hyderabad high court on Thursday found fault with AP mining officials for launching large-scale prosecutions against small miners only.
