PMKKY scheme: Over one crore royalty collected from various miners in Pulwama

Deputy Commissioner Pulwama Ghulam Mohammad Dar Wednesday convened a meeting to discuss the modalities for the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY) in the district.
“The meeting was informed that District Mineral Foundation Pulwama has collected Rs 1,22,78,819 as royalty from various miners across the District while as Rs 176.26 lac royalty is anticipated by the end of the financial year,” the statement said. Read more

District mineral fund to focus on water supply, transport

PANAJI: Directorate of mines and geology has identified three priority areas for usage of funds in the mining-affected areas under the Goa District Mineral Foundation.

The three areas will be water supply, transport to school and college students and sanitation. “We have agreed, in-principle, to provide water supply to mining-affected areas till permanent water connections are installed,” said a senior mines officer. The mines directorate is also working out modalities with the Goa Mineral Ore Exporters Association to provide buses for school and college students. Read more

After Chansad, another Padra village gives land for bullet train project

Vadodara: In a major relief to the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) – the implementing agency for the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train project – more villages now are coming forward to hand over land for the project.

After Chansad village of Padra taluka which became the first such village to seek consent award for land acquisition for the project, farmers of Shihor, another village of Padra taluka neighbouring Chansad, have also adopted a similar stand by expressing their readiness for the land acquisition process.
