Reiterating his government’s commitment to developing Kalyana Karnataka region, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday said that both the Union and the State governments are generously releasing funds for the development of the region.

He also said that his government has resolved all technical problems and is persuading the Supreme Court to release the entire District Mineral Foundation (DMF) funds for taking up development activities in Ballari. Read more

Jharkhand’s PAG detects bungling of Rs seven crore DMFT fund in Chatra

Ranchi, Jan 7: Jharkhand’s Principal Auditor General (PAG) revealed the misappropriation of Rs seven crore in the audit report of the District Mineral Foundation Trust (DMFT) fund created for the development of Chatra’s mining area.

The audit report was submitted to the Chief Secretary on April 22, 2022. In the report, it has been recommended to recover the amount that has been falsified and made wrong by the then Deputy Commissioners of the district.

50,000 people can’t be uprooted overnight: Supreme Court stays Haldwani eviction

The Supreme Court stayed the Uttarakhand high court order of Haldwani eviction and asked for a workable arrangement to address the ‘land encroachment’ issue. The matter will be heard next on February 7.

The Supreme Court on Thursday stayed the planned eviction of the railways in the ‘encroached’ land in Uttarakhand’s Haldwani and said a workable arrangement has to be devised as 50,000 people can’t be uprooted overnight. In its order, the Supreme Court said the government will have to provide full rehabilitation of the people of the area. “In the meantime, there shall be a stay of the directions passed in the impugned order,” the Apex Court said barring any new construction or development on the land.

In a letter to all the district Collectors, Health and Family Welfare Secretary Shalini Pandit said that the state government has decided to launch the initiative for 5T transformation of identified hospitals as ‘Ama Hospital.”
