Fourth general assembly conducted was organized in Dabbanda, Andhra Pradesh. It was held from 14th to 16th March 2013. There were 362 people present for the meeting from all over the country and supporters from outside the country were also present. It was decided in the meeting that Chairperson will be R. Sreedhar, Secretary General will be Ravi Rebbapragada and 23 people will be Executive Council Member.
We are children from Balamitra School in Dabbanda village in Vishaka district of Andhra Pradesh. We are singing a song about our Adivasi community.We Adivasi people live in the nature. We are the singing birds of the nature. We are the buds and aromatic flowers of orchards. We are the spicy smell in the nature. In cages and huts we are living like Tigers. In plants leafs and grass we are the dropplates of water. In fields we are like seeds of germinating plants. We will be together like bees and we share love with each other. Tribal and indigenous communities across the world have been asserting their rights to the mineral wealth often found under the land they own or possess or have traditional rights to. They have been historically denied even a share of that huge wealth, leave alone legal rights of ownership. Read more

RANCHI: The state government is framing an anti-displacement law that would be based on some features of the Samatha judgment of 1997. The judgment was passed by the Supreme Court in 1997 on a petition filed by an Andhra Pradesh-based social organization of the tribal people, Samatha, against the state government for restricting transfer of government land to non-tribal people for mining and industrial purposes in the areas under Schedule V of the Constitution.
